Isabella County, MI
A branch of Michigan Staveleys was established by the widow and children of John Staveley, who was born at Rivling Farm, Dent, Yorkshire in 1835. John and his brother Anthony emigrated to Ontario Canada in 1857 and settled near Norwood in Peterborough County. John was a farmer and stone mason.
In March 1860, at Peterborough, John married Evangeline Lillian Brogden. Between 1860 and 1877 they had eight children: Annie 1860, George William 1863, Frances Agnes, 1866, Albert 1868, Lillian Marguerite 1870, John Albert 1871, Frank Isaac 1873 and Ethel Arminta 1877.
John Staveley died in Norwood in late 1881 and about three years later his wife and children began relocating to Two Rivers, Wisconsin, and then Genesee and Isabella counties, Michigan.
Daughter Annie married Frederick Walter Bolton in Peterborough in 1883
Daughter Frances Agnes married John Porier about 1904.
Son Albert, born in 1868, died in 1871.
Daughter Lillian Marguerite died in 1870, in infancy.
Frank Isaac removed to Idaho and then Oregon. He was a miner; he never married.
Ethel Arminta married John "Jack" Walsh, brother of U.S. Senator Thomas James Walsh.
