Tama County, IA

Anthony Staveley, born in Dent in the West Riding of Yorkshire in 1832, the son of John Staveley and Ann HOWSON.  He and his younger brother John emigrated to Peterborough County, Ontario in 1857.  Anthony married Jane BELL in Ontario on July 20, 1865.  In early winter of 1866 Anthony and Jennie Staveley and their Bell in-laws removed to Tama County, Iowa, where Anthony purchased 80 acres of land and then sold half of it to Jennie’s parents.  In 1870 we find Anthony's family residing in Buckingham Township:

Anthony's son Herbert returned to Canada, and moved to Saskatchewan about 1901.  He established an insurance and land management company at Weyburn.

Anthony's son John is boarding in the FRANKLIN household in Buckingham township in 1900.  He married Elizabeth COLVILLE and is residing in Kossuth county, Iowa in 1910.

Anthony and Jennie's son Charles married Alice Bell TOMLINSON of Wisconsin.  His family is living in Tama in 1900:
