Walsoken, Norfolk

Eastland Staveley b. September 23, 1809 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire is the son of Miles Staveley and Eleanor GOSNEY.  Eastland's father Miles died in St. Pancras, London in 1850.  Eastland married Ann in 1843 in London, and by 1851 Eastland is found residing with his wife and children in Walsoken, Norfolk:

Eastland and Ann also had a daughter Ann Mabel b. 1851, but she died soon after she was born.  Daughter Ella Knaithia shown above died in 1861.  Eastland and Ann's son William Knaith Staveley died in 1868.

In 1871 daughter Ann Ellen Staveley is visiting with Christopher Staveley of Knaith (b. 1786) at his home in Orston, Nottinghamshire.

In 1871 Eastland's wife Ann is found residing at Marshland Road, but her husband, Eastland, was not present in the household on census night:

Eastland was located, aged 61 years, visiting Bristol, Gloucestershire on census night in 1871, staying in a local Bristol hotel.  He died early the following year in the March quarter of 1872 in Cambridge.  In 1881 we find his widow Ann residing in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

Eastland and Ann's son Eastland is not located in the 1881 census, but married Jane BARKER in 1883, and by 1891 he is found residing in Formby, Lancashire.

Eastland's daughter, Isabella Reynoldson Staveley, is residing at Silloth Farm in Low Holme, Cumberland in 1881, employed as a Governess in the CARR household.  By 1891 Isabella is located residing in Denbigh, Wales, again employed as a Governess, this time in the employ of John BRISCOE, the Justice of the Peace of Denbigh.  In 1901 Isabella is visiting the WHITE household in Dunoon and Kilmun, in Scotland. Isabella Reynoldson Staveley died, unmarried, in Wisbech in 1922 at the age of 86 years.

Alwyn Walter Staveley became an electrical engineer, and is found residing as a boarder at 87 Hinckley Rd, Leicester in 1891.  Alwyn married Hester COCKETT in Norfolk in 1893, and they are found living in Knighton, Leicester in 1901.

Eastland's wife Ann died in 1891 at the age of 67 years.  Their daughters Laura, May Christophera, and Amy Dawes are living in Walsoken in 1891:

Ann Ellen Staveley died in 1929 in Wisbech at the age of 76 years.  Her sister Laura died in Wisbech in 1942 at the age of 88 years.
