To hold from Whit 1316 for 4 yrs. (2) to pay 18d. (p.a.) to heirs of Lord Wm. de Stavelay and 1d. (p.a.) to fabric of St. Mary's church. If (2) erects any other building on premises, he can take it down or away at end of term.
Michael Staveley was born in 1712, the son of Michael Staveley of Bessingby. He married Sarah LOFTUS September 14, 1735 in Walkington, Yorkshire and had the following children in Beverley:

Francis and Catherine's son William married Martha CLAYTON August 12, 1790 in Pocklington, Yorkshire, and settled in St. Mary Castlegate, York. Note that son Hugh was buried at St. Mary Castlegate in 1805.
William Staveley was born in St. Mary Castlegate, York in 1799. He married Amelia ABRAHAM and briefly lived in Cambridgeshire shortly after they married in 1825, and in 1828 appear to have moved to Thornton Curtis, Lincolnshire. By 1841 we find this family residing in Beverley:

Their stay in Beverley was brief however, and by 1851 we find this family living in Barton Upon Humber, Lincolnshire. Daughter Margaret was buried at Barton Upon Humber on October 15, 1843. Son Walter Paul Staveley, and daughter Emma were both buried at Barton on April 22, 1844.
George Staveley is the son of John Staveley and Mary DALE of Wetwang, Yorkshire. In 1881 his parents are residing in Hutton Cranswick, and his two brothers, Richard and Robert, are lodging in Bridlington.

William Robert Staveley died in 1926 at the age of 88, in Harrogate. His daughter, Margaret Amelia, died a spinster in 1946 at the age of 71 years.
