Adam Staveley was born in 1824 in Liverpool, the son of William Staveley and Mary, and baptized in April that year at St. Peter's in Woolton, Liverpool.  Unfortunately it has not yet been determined exactly which Staveley family Adam is derived from as there is not a clear link from the earliest Woolton Staveleys to any other Staveley lineage.  Adam married his wife Sarah SPEAKMAN at St. Mary, Manchester in 1853, and the following year their eldest son George was born.
