Francis Staveley is one of twin sons born in Aysgarth, Yorkshire in 1827 to parents George Staveley and Dorothy WRAY. In 1853 Francis married Alice DYNELY. In 1861 they are found residing in Ardwick, Lancashire, and by 1871 have moved to Gorton. In 1881 they are again residing in Ardwick, but Francis is a Widower as his wife Alice died in 1876. In 1891 Francis and his son Frank have moved to Chorlton Upon Medlock to reside with Francis' only daughter Ann:

Francis Staveley died in 1894 at the age of 66 years.
William Staveley was born in 1844, the son of William Staveley (b. 1807) of Aysgarth, and Bridget REGAN. In 1861 William is residing at home with his parents in Worsley, Lancashire. William married Caroline SCHOFIELD in 1867 in Manchester and lived in Prestwich between 1871-1881. Caroline died in 1886. By 1891 William had remarried, to a Jane Sheriff CHEETHAM. Jane was herself previously married, as evidenced by the presence of two step children in William's household in 1891 in Ancoats. By 1901 we find that William is again a widower:

William Staveley died in 1920 at the age of 76 years. His widow Esther died in Manchester in 1935 at the age of 84 years.
