Crosby, Lincolnshire

James Staveley was the son of John and Hannah Staveley of Skirlaugh, b. December 18, 1817.  James married Martha KELL in 1846 and settled in Crosby, Lincolnshire.

* Bessy and Sarah are actually James Staveley's step daughters.  However, until the release of the 1851 census, the Staveley/Kell relationship was somewhat unclear.  However, both the 1851 and 1881 census records for this family now suggest that Martha KELL was indeed married before she married James Staveley.  See the Winterton page for further explanation.

James and Martha move to Winterton, Lincolnshire by 1861.
