Of Edward and Mary Ann's four daughters, only Miriam married. Their remaining 3 daughters were all spinsters at the time of their deaths. Edward's daughter Sarah Fanny Staveley died a spinster in 1921 in Barton Upon Irwell, at the age of 65 years. Daughter Marie Helen died in Barton Upon Irwell in 1937 at the age of 84 years. Lastly, in 1839 daughter Bertha Mary, also a spinster, died in Barton Upon Irwell at the age of 75 years.
