Edward Staveley b. September 24, 1823 was born in Coventry, Warwickshire, the son of Robert Staveley and Sarah ARNOLD.  Edward married Mary Ann PICKARD in Coventry, Warwickshire in 1848. By 1851 Edward and Mary are residing in Hulme, Lancashire, and Edward's sister Emma is staying with the family:

Edward and Mary's daughter Emma Louisa died in 1859.  However, by 1861 two new children are in the household:

In 1881 Edward and Mary's daughter Maria is absent from the family household.  She is found visiting William Joseph CARPENTER, a Watchmaker from Coventry and his family in Yardley, Worcestershire.

Edward's daughter Miriam Alice married Robert HESKETH in 1886 and is residing in Moss Side, Lancashire in 1891 with her husband and young daughter Constance.

Both Edward and Mary Ann died in the March quarter of 1900, and both were aged 76 years at the time of their death.

Of Edward and Mary Ann's four daughters, only Miriam married.  Their remaining 3 daughters were all spinsters at the time of their deaths.  Edward's daughter Sarah Fanny Staveley died a spinster in 1921 in Barton Upon Irwell, at the age of 65 years.  Daughter Marie Helen died in Barton Upon Irwell in 1937 at the age of 84 years.  Lastly, in 1839 daughter Bertha Mary, also a spinster, died in Barton Upon Irwell at the age of 75 years.
