Tuxford, Nottinghamshire

Joseph Staveley was born in 1815 in Newark, Nottinghamshire, the son of Joseph Staveley and Martha SUDBURY.  Joseph (b. 1815) married Mary WATSON on April 11, 1836 in Newark Upon Trent.  They lived and raised their family in Newark until about 1854, when they relocated to Tuxford.

Joseph and Mary's daughter Emma (b. 1848) married George PAWSON in 1867.  Daughter Mary is found as a servant in the ANDREWS household in Tuxford in 1871.  Their grandson John is living in the household in 1871.  John is the son of Joseph's son John b. 1836.

In 1881 Joseph and Mary's grandson John appears to still be residing in the household.  It is unknown at this time what became of his father.  The significance of the "Staveleys Yard" address has yet to be determined:

Joseph's grandson John married Elizabeth RADFORD in East Retford district in 1885, and moved to Mission, Nottinghamshire by 1891.  By 1901 John and Elizabeth are living in Bawtry, Yorkshire, just 3 miles from Mission, on the Nottinghamshire/Yorkshire border.
