Abbotsham, Devon
Abbotsham is located approximately two miles west of Bideford. Abraham Staveley's parentage has not been confirmed, but he may be the son of John and Elizabeth Staveley of Shirwell, Devon. On December 14, 1653 Abraham Staveley married Tamson BROWN and had the following children in Abbotsham:

Phillip above married Agnes HUNT in Barnstaple, Devon October 16, 1726 "both of Northam", and appears to have moved to Bideford.

It appears that Abraham may have had a brother John. There is a christening for a John Staneleigh, son of Richard on June 27, 1627 in Bideford. There is also a John Staveley christened to John and Elizabeth of Shirwell in 1630. Regardless, a John Staveley living in Abbotsham around the same time as Abraham, appears to have married Mary SHEBBER September 16, 1661 and had the following two children:
